From the NFL highlights package:

Poyer gets the SOG again from me. The whole secondary had some poor moments, but his missed tackles and blown coverage stood out.

Additional thoughts:

I was a supporter of Skyler Thompson and from the highlights it's hard to tell who was to blame for that fumbled handoff... but it's obvious who McDaniel thought it was, because he benched him immediately after. The guy has zero confidence right now because of the total lack of support the last two seasons, and it's best now for a clean divorce so he can try and resurrect some chance of a career elsewhere.

Dude is a 7th round pick.  He is playing to expectations, honestly.

So was Brock Purdy. 15 spots later in the same draft.

And Tom Brady was a 6th round pick, Kurt Warner was an undrafted free agent, etc.

Nevertheless, Skyler Thompson is playing at the expected level of a 7th round QB.

1) It's Skylar

2) McDaniel didn't bench him because he thought he was to blame.  He benched him because the game was no longer locked up and they needed Tua back in

3) He should always be known as the guy who helped end the playoff drought

I'll give it to both Skylar and the RB.  Both were to blame.
