Raheem Mostert is the difference between being 6-8 and 8-6 right now.
Of course there are some fluke plays for other teams that allowed us to win but everything else aside if Mostert doesn’t fumble we likely have W more dubs
If those fluke plays from other teams that allowed us to win didn't happen... we'd be in the same situation or even worse. I think a consistently decent offensive line would be a better start to addressing our rushing woes this season.
Remember back to when we scored 70 against the Broncos last year? When the left side of our line was blowing open holes that literally any of us could run through to gain yardage.
Our starting Offensive line was: Armstead - Wynn - Williams - Hunt - Jackson
None of those guys were playing last week. Two aren't even on our list anymore, and one hasn't played a down all season.
You want to run the ball? You start with the beef up front. Wynn not being able to suit up so far this season has really hurt - A LOT - but it's Grier's job to have contingencies.
Jones is OK as a relief/fill-in, but you don't want to bank on him week to week. Oh, and he let Hunt walk in the offseason.
Eichenberg is popular because he's versatile and can be moved around - so were the deck chairs on the Titanic, right up to someone said "that iceberg looks close", after which, like him, they're totally useless.
This is what Grier thought was perfectly fine going into this season with. I'd label that a much bigger failure than a couple of Mostert cough-ups (as bad as they were).
