It sure as shit feels like it.

Last year, everyone got injured.  Again, it feels like we have major MAJOR injuries at key positions in ways that other teams just don't have.

I cite this article: https://www.sportsinfosolutions.com/2024/10/03/which-nfl-teams-have-been-most-least-impacted-by-injuries/

We aren't the worst, but we're up there.  This seems to be something that has plagued us for decades.

Is it just bad luck?  Is it something we're doing?  Is it the environment down here?  Is it the types of players we have?

I'm not sure I understand this list. The Lions have the most players out on IR and are decimated by other injuries ... especially on defense.

All teams have to deal with injuries, how you deal with them is more relevant. We are not a special case.

Injuries are an excuse. Good teams don't look for excuses for problems, They look for solutions.

No, it's just that injuries are more damaging to the Dolphins than other teams. Take Detroit for instance. They are besieged with injuries and yet still continue to play at a high level. It's just a convenient excuse for the Dolphins.

I think that's a fair point. Our depth isn't anywhere near as good, so it's a pretty good assumption that we're a relatively fragile team.

The 49ers last weekend looked to have it a lot worse than us - and there was also a corresponding spike in penalties for them as substitute players struggled to execute Shannahan's system. Pearsall got called for multiple basic illegal formation penalties, just not being on the line of scrimmage. That stuff on top of the injuries just kills a precision heavy/finesse based system.

I was worried at the end of last year with our defensive injuries, like Chubb, then losing some guys in FA, so it hurt the defense this year.  Probably could have won two more games if our defense was closer to a 100% in the middle of the season.  Offensive line has struggled with ongoing injuries for a couple years, I think it's really time to cut ties with Armstead (his whole career has been one big injury).

But I don't think we're much worse when it comes to other top teams; our backups just aren't as good.
