Tyreek posted "3 hour drive to Tampa about to be a breeze" on X and people are saying things like We don't want you here. Keep heading to Jax with your drama! Jax people are saying to stay in Miami! hahahaha

I don't know how be can get to Tampa in three hours.  It's at least a five hour drive from Miami

According to google it's a four hour drive.

Maybe Tyreek can do in three when he's speeding in his supercar and the police aren't paying any attention (unlike that one certain time)

My 2 cents worth.

As it stands, my gut feel is we should trade Tyreek before June 1st, wear the cap hit for 2025, and completely free up 2026 where we are up for a potential $52 million (yes you read that right) salary cap hit for Tyreek.

https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/miami-dolphins/cap/_/year/2026/sort/cap_total

If we trade him after June 1st there's some relief to the tune of something like $15 million, but then it's pushed into 2026 as dead money (like we've worn this year for X). I would rather rip off the bandaid right now (and save $52 million for 2026), see if Tua is genuinely an elite QB without him, and if Waddle is a #1 receiver (that we are paying him for) with McDaniel. If it fails, it's vindication to get rid of the lot and reset.

As it stands, all pointers are looking like this is a totally botched/failed rebuild - McDaniel & Grier have one year to get it right, or else (and an impatient Ross has already indicated that another season like this - or worse - will not be tolerated). In such a scenario , the new coach & GM will need coming in will all of the help they can get, and we've pushed back the contracts on the credit card too much already. You can only do that so long before it all blows up - and it basically already has.

Tyreek lives west of Southwest Ranches and Ft lauderdale so it's likely no problem for him. Of course ... the Tampa area is quite large so it depends on where.  I get to the stadium in under 3 hours and I'm north of Orlando. 80 miles an hour on I-75 would do it for him and he's still getting passed.

I saw somewhere asking if Tyreek was the late person. Joe Rose seems to think it is and he even mentioned yesterday no one from the Dolphins has called him to negate that. Other than doing the radio call for the Dolphins, Joe is best friends with Dan and almost always knows more than he says. He also seemed to think other highly paid players were guilty as well. Without saying it, it sounded like Ramsey to me.

The theory is Tyreek isn't going anywhere. It's expected that Chris and Mike need this year to work to keep their jobs so trading your best player for draft picks wouldn't benefit them. Seems to make sense to me but Tyreek could always go crazy to force his way out. Saw he was with Jonnu at some function so he is still hanging with other players.

Tyreek Hill on end-of-season comments: It was frustration:

https://www.thephinsider.com/2025/1/25/24351824/miami-dolphins-wide-receiver-tyreek-hill-on-end-of-season-comments-it-was-frustration

While on cam streaming fortnite, Tyreek came up with:

“What y’all heard at the end of the season was frustration,” Hill said. “I’ve been winning my whole life. I bust my ass every day, so I deserve to feel like that — I deserve to have some sort of opinion.

“We gotta put pressure [on the franchise], like come on and add some muthafuckin dogs.”

It's really hard to know what's going on with him and his camp given how flippant he is. I don't how the hell he expects the team to add quality players when he (along with Tua, Waddle, Ramsey and Chubb) have taken up so much of the salary cap and we are already well in deficit. Then again, he never did seem to be the sharpest tool in the shed.

It's the sort of distraction the team doesn't really need while it's picking up the pieces after a disappointing season.

He is a spoiled brat.  He could have stayed in KC by signing an extension that would have made him slightly less money and been on a championship team.

Yesterday ... Jimmy Johnson was saying he shipped off a great player when he took over the Dolphins because it wasn't worth the distractions he caused on the team. He didn't say who it was but mentioned him being a TE. I believe we traded Keith Byers to New England that year.

As Herb Brooks said it is not about having the best players it is about having the right players.

Eric Green. I don't remember Byers being a problem player

Oh yes ... you are correct. It even says it on wikipedia.

On March 11, 1995, Green signed a six-year, $12 million contract with the Miami Dolphins.[7] At the time of the signing, Green's contract made him the highest paid tight end in NFL history. Green had also visited with the Raiders prior to signing with the Dolphins, but they did not make him an offer.[7]

On July 9, 1996, Green was released from the Miami Dolphins. His weight problems and work ethic caused then-coach Jimmy Johnson to release Green from the team, which terminated his six-year, $12 million contract. Green attempted to collect his $1.5 million salary by going to arbitration. He said that his knee injury was caused by jogging with the team at mini-camp, while the Dolphins said it occurred while jogging at home.

As others have mentioned, it was Eric Green.

He was far from a "great player" in a Dolphins uniform, he was an overpaid, overweight, overrated bum.

Devon Achane addressed Tyreek's "dawgs" comment. "We got dawgs. We just need more people to bring it out. I wouldn't say we need more, as in got to get other (players)," said Achane. I don't think he was but it kind of comes across like he was calling Tyreek out ... Hahaha
