I may be biased because I absolutely detest Crocs. I'll spare you the rant. What I don't understand is who is allowing them to be acceptable footwear for work?  I see restaurant workers,  bartenders, retail clerks, etc. wearing them and it pisses me off as a supervisor of employees. I admit my reaction is over the top but is my belief that they are not appropriate for work invalid?

You have to wear them in "Sport Mode."

There are certain occupations where they are a safety issue, but if this is a style complaint I don't see the issue.

We have them here ... mostly in South Florida as well.

Aside from my dislike of the style it is about occupational safety.

I saw an article today saying that at least 20 states have a school system in it that have banned Crocs for safety reasons.

They offer no arch support and they don't stabilize the ankle.   They are basically covered sandals.  They are not safe to wear to work.  Not in an office environment and definitely not in a food service environment.

Never got the appeal of Crocs...

I've never had Crocs but I did buy a pair of HEYDUDES but rarely wear them. They look good but don't offer much support so my feet end up hurting after standing for a while. I'm guessing Crocs is the exact opposite but they are so ugly I don't care to try.
