Dolphins are obviously looking at offensive linemen but it is good to hear they have been speaking to and scouting the QBs like Jaxson Dart of Mississippi, Oregon’s Dillon Gabriel, Alabama’s Jalen Milroe, and Notre Dame’s Riley Leonard.

I'm a fan of Dillion Gabriel from his UCF days but I kind of expect them to go after someone with NFL experience to be back-up.

Nothing wrong with spending a draft pick on one of those guys to develop as a third stringer.   You have them running the scout team in practices, they can develop that way.   However, seeing as there are a large number of teams that are QB needy and the QB class in this draft is thin, those guys will be reached for.

They are not developing on the scout team. The other day Omar and Joe Rose were discussing Skyler and talked about how little time was spent allowing him to develop since his playoff loss to Buffalo. He was the scout team QB behind Mike White the following season and then the back-up last year for part of the season.  Tua gets most of the reps, the back-up gets a few but the scout team QB gets literally none in the offense.

That is literally the same on every team.

Some players say that their time on scout team as vital to their development. You don't learn your own offensive plays but you study a dozen starting QBs.  This allows the QB to adopt the best tricks of multiple QBs.

Makes sense I suppose.

The sons of former Miami Dolphins players Jason Taylor and Oronde Gadsden have had conversations with the Dolphins. LSU TE Mason Taylor is showing well at the Senior Bowl this week. Oronde Gadsden II, the oversized wide receiver from Syracuse, is expected to play TE in the NFL. Gadsden was named to the East-West Shrine Game All-Practice team

I'm sorry to ask, but does this actually mean anything in modern US sports?

Patrick Surtain Jr would have been a very nice get for us, but we passed over him (as well as Penei Sewell) to get Waddle. All of Edmunds' kids have played elsewhere.

In Australia's AFL there is (what can be a fairly generous) father-son discount to give teams an advantage to have long-term players sons (and now daughters with the AFLW) continue the family legacy. But there is literally nothing in NFL beyond promises, romantic notions, and $$$
