Trump is not "joking" about remaining president after this term is over, as we all said from the very beginning:

President Donald Trump said Sunday that “I’m not joking” about trying to serve a third term, the clearest indication he is considering ways to breach a constitutional barrier against continuing to lead the country after his second term ends at the beginning of 2029.

“There are methods which you could do it,” Trump said in a telephone interview with NBC News from Mar-a-Lago, his private club.

He elaborated later to reporters on Air Force One from Florida to Washington that “I have had more people ask me to have a third term, which in a way is a fourth term because the other election, the 2020 election was totally rigged.” Trump lost that election to Democrat Joe Biden. [...]

NBC’s Kristen Welker asked Trump if one potential avenue to a third term was having Vice President JD Vance run for the top job and “then pass the baton to you.”

“Well, that’s one,” Trump responded. “But there are others too. There are others.”

“Can you tell me another?” Welker asked.

“No,” Trump replied.

Looks like we have three years for the Strong American Patriots Who Love The Constitution to figure out some excuse why they're going to vote for Trump again.  Maybe this time it'll be, "I wasn't going to vote for Trump again, but Democrats kept calling him a dictator so I had to vote for him."

But that's the long term.  In the short term, it'll be more of the "Trump obviously doesn't mean what he says (except when he does)" excuse-making.

All I needed to do was click the link to see the news source to determine my stance on this.   A left leaning news source attacking Trump.   Wash, rinse, repeat.

There's no way around a constitutional amendment.  I know it, and you know it.   Quit posting this clickbait garbage, especially without the actual link printed in your post.

Notably absent from your response is any acknowledgement that 1) Trump intends to continue as president beyond his second term or 2) you would refuse to support such a run.  All you can muster is some weak protestation that there's no way he can do it.

But if Trump does invent some bullshit reason that allows him to do it (for example: the one literally listed in the article), and the Supreme Court - the same Supreme Court that said it's impossible to charge him with a crime for any "official act" - says he can indeed be President for the rest of his life, then you and the rest of the cultists will be right on board, voting for him again!

Trump is trolling. I can assure you there are many people who have voted for him 3 times who will not support this and I would argue most of us. My X feed supports this.  It would open up so many other issues.

On the negative side it helps to generate opposition so it would be in the GOP's best interest not to say things like this.

"Trump obviously doesn't mean what he says (except when he does)"

The good news is that you have three whole years before you decide on why the Democrats have forced you to vote for him again.

This is true for now but will not be true.

You will vote for him again, if given the chance.  (My real fear is that you won't be given the chance.)  You will hem and haw and pretend to care, but pull pull the trigger for him anyway just like you did twice before.  Just like you pretended to be appalled at January 6th until you realized you would have to defend it.  He tried to overthrow the government, you saw it, you knew it was awful and then you pretended it was something else and voted for him anyway.

So please....spare me.

Of coure there is.

Laws aren't laws if they aren't followed.

You're not allowed to sell cars on the White House lawn.  That's specifically against the law.  You can't sell Goya from the oval office.

You are constitutionally obligated to advise a presidents choice for Supreme Court but the GOP just refused and there was fuckall done about it.

Our best chance against Trump is for him to be so unpopular that he doesn't try to go through with it.  But he can do some bullshit like limit voting, declare martial law, put in a shadow candidate that resigns....whatever they want.  He can just refuse to leave.  He already tried it once.  Laws are just words on paper.  When you stamp out all opposition, you just take over.

Russia is a democracy that continues to vote for Putin.  Amazing that he's so popular!!!!

I did not vote for Randy Fine even though Trump begged us to. Last week was the craziest I've ever seen with phone calls, texts, and emails from the GOP begging us to help him because it looked like he would lose. He won, but not nearly by the numbers held for DeSantis, Mike Waltz, and Trump. The few people I know who voted for him did so only because the Democrat was just as crappy of a candidate. None of us want to see Trump turn into a dictator. That would make too many of you guys happy that you were right! hahaha

Even when it comes to making Trump a dictator, the best argument you can muster against it is "We don't want to prove Democrats right."  It's always about owning the libs.

Whether or not you personally vote for some Trump lackey (who easily wins anyway) is wholly irrelevant.  You will absolutely find an excuse to vote for Trump in November 2028, just as you did in November 2024.  But first, you'll spend the next three years lying to yourself about how You Would Never Do Such A Thing.

Just like you did last time.

It was a joke ... hence the hahaha. Gee wizzz ... does being a progressive force you to be uptight too? I thought it just made you think minorities can't do anything for themselves.

I don't have to make excuses for anything. No one wants anyone to find a way to manipulate the presidency into being a dictator. I get your values blow back and forth with whomever is making the decision but that completely goes against what we conservatives are against. It's why the Constitution was written in a way to protect citizen from the government.

You say all that, but you don't truly mean any of it.  It's just words.

You are completely fine with Trump sending a violent mob to the Capitol to prevent his successor from being confirmed.  You support Trump's pardons of the violent insurrectionists convicted by a jury of their peers in a court of law.  You approve of the Supreme Court's ruling that Trump cannot be charged with a crime for any "official act" he takes.

All of your so-called morals are just BS; a facade that you like to present.  But you'll happily discard them for power at the first opportunity.  So when Trump is on the ballot in 2028, you'll find some flimsy excuse to vote for him, just like you did last year.  You spent four years grandstanding about how you don't approve of Trump and won't vote for him, but when the rubber hit the road, you pulled the lever for Trump.  Your words are meaningless.

If you think Trump had anything to do with that mob, you're way off base.   Trump actually condemned it over Twitter right before they banned him.   Whoever organized it was not backed by Trump.

You're still barking about a riot that lasted a couple of hours like 5 years ago? A riot that did much less damage than one of the burning of stores, businesses, and government buildings. this doesn't even include the current attacks on Tesla and their owners. hahaha Nothing like seeing liberals turn their backs on their own cause becasuse the didn't get their way.

My guess is that your angle 4 years from now will be, "You're still complaining about Trump winning an election to stay in office for another term?"

It shouldn't be that surprising. Trump didn't swear the oath on the bible taking office.

So either he is not going to do anything in accordance with the Constitution, genuine democracy, justice, and freedom... or he is the Antichrist (or both)

You idiots voted for this utter piece of shit... again.

Between Trump and Elon... "Can't you see, he's fooled you all? Share his peace. sign the lease. He's the supersonic scientist, the guaranteed eternal sanctuary man"
