So, my buddy Cdogg and I created our own 12 month calendar:
Jason Taylor
Zach Thomas
Ronnie
Ricky
Olindo
Chambers
Madison
Frerotte
McMichael
Welker
Saban
Seau

I would agree with your mentality, but some of these guys I would replace with others.  Here's who I'd like to see:

Jason Taylor
Zach Thomas
Ronnie Brown
Ricky Williams
Olindo Mare
Chris Chambers
Travis Daniels
Marty Booker
Randy McMichael
Wes Welker
Nick Saban
Channing Crowder

We need more months if you focus on backups who made no impact.  I think you could get a decent calendar with bums that were supposed to start, or had to start (due to injury).

I'll take January and nominate - David Boston

Any particular reason Crowder was left off?

Dave and I really wanted to put Crowder on, but just didn't think he was a big enough name yet.  Seau is a bum but is more well known to fans.  We looked at it through a sales point of view.

Jimmy?  How so?

He pretty much built the defense we have.  He didn't live up to expectations, but he wasn't a bum.  ...he left the team in pretty good shape.

What? Let's see his last game was a 62-7 loss in the playoffs. He left us with a gaping hole at QB. He left us with no running back (although his efforts to address that show he tried, but was a failure). Then he left us with Wanny as his hand picked replacement.

He was the first domino in the chain reaction that we are just now coming out of.

This was a loss IN THE 2nd round of the PLAYOFFS!!!

I don't really think this is true.  His hall of fame guy retired, and we got a guy in Jay Fiedler that played with the team for like 5 years, and was successful for the most part.  He wasn't a superstar, but he did manage to start for 5 years.

He drafted some RB busts, OK....

Wanny was brought here to be our D coordinator....and he was a good one.  What he did as a heah coach after Jimmy left is Dave's fault...not Jimmy's.

I disagree.  ....it happened back with Shula, if you're considering Jimmy a failure.  When you can win games in the playoffs, all is not a loss.

I actually think we woulda been better off if Jimmy resigned the first season he "thought about it", rather than coming back for 1 more year with Wanny the circus clown

So what when the loss was. A team that loses any game that badly is not in good shape.

You don't think we had a QB hole? Fiedler did not come here under JJ. Fiedler did not come until after JJ left. He also failed to address the need for a QB knowing that Dan was at the end of his career. In the NFL you don't wait until after you don't have a QB before you start looking for a new one.

Wanny was not brought in as the D-cordinator. Wanny was brought in with the title Assistant Head Coach and was JJ's hand picked replacement after he retired and then decided to come back once before.
