Am I crazy, or have I seen a rash of NFL players recently wearing ballcaps for other teams?

I watched an interview with Brentson Buckner on Cold Pizza and he was wearing a Boston Red Sox cap. I also saw two NFL players (I can't remember where or who) wearing white NYY caps.

Don't they have to sport their teams gear when doing official interviews? Does this strike anyone else as weird or just me?

Probably just you, I've seen this happening for a long time now.  I guess it's ok if they don't sport a cap of a different team in their own league.

I've seen this for a while as well.  ...I've even seen guys sporting jerseys from other players within their sport.  I think that the NFL "owns" these players for certain interviews (where they'd have to wear officially licensed apparel from their team) and other interviews where they can do or say whatever.

Kobe I think got fined some big $$ during his last title run, because during press conferences in the playoffs he'd wear Michael Jordan jerseys.  I think he also got fined for wearing Shaq's jersey (his teammate at the time).

It was a huge deal when TO wore Michael Irvin's jersey to a Eagles/Cowboys game, wasn't it?  I can't remember any other time seeing that happen.

I don;t see any problem wearing apparel outside of your particular sport. wearing another teams ger within your sport should cause a fine in my opinion.
