2 things .. lowell really stunk it up last year .. but he's a 1st half kind of guy .. and believe it or not .. he's not a homerun hitter .. he's a line drive hitter and a pull hitter .. i don't think his HR numbers are going to go up alot in boston .. expect him to spell out his name on the green monster though

Alex gonzales is probably the best defensive player on the sox .. top 5 in the MLB at any position. The plays he makes are astonishing. Castillo won gold gloves on the marlins but gonzales should have .. he just didn't have the publicity to do it .. his also has quite a bit of power and will pelt that green monstrosity you guys have up there.

Lowell isn't a power hitter in the 30 HR a year way, but he's traditionally been a 18-25 HR guy.  I completely expect that this year, along with a lot of wall balls (to your point).  The thing that I'm really excited about with Lowell is his glove, which is always there and slick as hell.  But...that's what I'll outline in my State of the Union: defense thread!

All Red Sox, all the time!

I'm glad you are right (so far) about it.  Don't want to see him go anywhere.
