Premise: A record label promoter (Tom Cavanauh from the show Ed) gets fired from his job at the corporate for his view on the industry - more about the music, than the money.  He is picked up by an Indie label, and with a few acts that he really believes in, tries to get some stability for himself, his job, and his love life.

Rating: Pretty good.

This show is the movie High Fidelity mixed with Jerry Maguire.  One cool thing is that it uses real musicians as part of the show...for example Ben Folds and LeAnn Rhymes played themselves in passing the main character on the street.  It adds some realism to it.  One thing that irritates me is the way that the main guy is always quoting music lines.  It seems kind of forced.  He also has a group of friends that repesent all parts of the spectrum: the married guy (Jason Priestly, who's now fat), the token black player (the main guy from Dead Presidents), the jock that's secretly gay (the QB on Playmakers), the female best-friend (some chick that you know her face, but for nothing specific), etc.  Overall, I like it, but I'm still not sold.  With shows like this, sometimes it takes a little bit to settle in to their characters and not rely on cliche's, but it's a necessary evil when you get started.

On a side note, a while back, I was writing a book, and the way that the show is presented is EXACTLY how I had written my main character.  It's done in a similar narrative, using the same voice that I did.  So, that is kind of a kick in the pants every time I hear something that I had used in my book.  ...which has happened in both episodes, so far.

I liked the show, even though I missed about 10 minutes in the middle to help my landlord move a refrigerator. Very likable main character and many yummy supporting hotties running around.

I'll watch it again...you betcha.
