I was wondering if anyone had bought this and is playing it?

Is it worth the $30? or can I find a free mod that's just as good?

Any info would be helpful...Thanks...

Got the game when it came out B,  and I have to tell you,  it rocks.  Is it worth $30?  Well,  probably not.  Unless you get it off EBAY in the $20 range you'll be ok.  It's a nice addition to BF2,  on top of extra maps (night missions included),  you get new weapons,  NVG's,  a zip line to slide from roof to roof,  tear gas (nice effect),  gas mask,  flash bang,  grappling hook,  new vehicles and of course new classes including  Insurgents,  Spetsnaz, British.

Problem?  Hardly any servers hosting the BF2: SF goodies.   Angry   People are still playing the original maps with the original gear.  Making BF2: SF  unplayable.  Once every blue moon you'll find a good server hosting it, but it's probably not worth the $30 because of this rarity.

See ya on the Battlefield!

That's kind of what I was wondering,I've not heard anyone really talk about it.
I admit,I'm a loser...I don't play it online.

I was playing the "Mercenaries" mod off of planet battlefield,I also played a few maps they they came up with it.

It was ok my biggest complaint with the Mercenaries mod,was that you had just as good of accuracy with the Support Machine gun as you did with the basic Assualt Kit.

I found just playing the Generic original maps on a medium Difficulty to be satisfying...

I appreciate the Info Thunder,I thought it kind of odd...there hasn't been alot of noise about it coming out.

I don't play it online.

I know what you mean man,  it gets tougher and tougher to play online these days due to all the pu$$y hacks and the sort.  If I don't play with some buddies,  I stick to single player as well.  But on Expert...   oooohhhh,  MAN,  talk about good stuff!

If you ever decide to get on,  ya know where I am!

i bought it just because i love BF2...but it's probably a little light to warrant $30 unless you are looking for a few new toys to play with to vary it up a little. i still revert back and play standard maps most of the time (usually dragon valley, daqing oilfields, and dalian plant).

BTW, thundergod, whats your BF2 username and how many points do you have?

I have BF2 but haven't bought the expansion.  I, too, usually just play the single player version because I just want to get out and kill stuff right away :-)  Plus, I don't have cable anymore for the time being...

My friend has the expansion and swears by it... but, then again, he always wants the latest and greatest of everything.

yeah that thing is way out of date...i've never been to that page before. here is mine:
http://bf2s.com/player/45008397/
i am at about 6000 points now and it says i'm at 3608?

edit: it hasn't updated since 11/10/05...i had 44 hours playtime at that date...i'm over 80 hours now...so that explains the discrepancy.
