The down side of the Dolphins closing out last season with 6 straight wins to end up at 9-7, if you can really call it a down side, is that I hear quite a few Dolphins had bonus clauses built into their contracts that triggered because Miami had a winning record.
Just to emphasize the point: Any such bonuses would be NLTBE due to the "Last Year" rule, which basically states that an incentive is NLTBE if the player/team did not reach it last year. Since we were 4-12 in 2004, any "winning 2005 season" incentives would automatically be considered NLTBE and thus count towards our 2006 salary cap.
