The plus side is he'll be ready sooner than Brees, most likely in time for camp.

The plus side is we can open up the passing game.

The plus side is he's the best QB we've had since Marino.

The down side is 1+ fumbles per game.

Damn... Sad

The down side is 2+ INT's per game.......but hey we are almost accustomed to that.  Roll Eyes

You know I too wanted Brees and was not a real fan of Dante by any means. Bottom line he is better than any QB we have had here Post Dan Marino. I hope he gets healthy in time to play a full season and I hope he prospers here in Miami for the sake of the team. I think the team needs to write a clause into his contract that states he is to avoid all party boats.  Tongue

Now do the Dolphins make a push for TO as well? I would hope not but there had been specualtion earlier that he wanted to come here. Does this make the offer a little sweeter for him? Not that I want him but do you think the team might be looking that direction?

I love this move.  More to follow in the next "Maine Objective."

I don't see TO in the future of the Miami Dolphins.

I would have preferred Brees, but you can't argue this deal too much.

Mawae and Givins both signed with Titans.

I hate Culpepper.

Now I'm gonna have to hear about him for years. Ugh.

He offered to rework his contract and he has never taken a snap with this team. I kind of like that, it shows he wants to be a team player!!!!!

It's a risky move, but I like it.  He's obviously better than Frerrote for proven reasons.  Also a good choice considering Jay Cutler most likely won't be around at 16 after tearing it up in the eyes of every scout in the '06 Scouting Combine.  Culpepper needs work, especially with fumbling and accuracy, but these are things that can be improved/fixed with good coaching.  I like the fact that Nick Saban is not afraid to take risks....he's got BALLS unlike Wannstedt.

You don't think a 2nd rounder for AJ Feeley is ballsy?

Well...one positive for the Dolphins - he can eclipse Dan Marino's career rushing yards in a SINGLE GAME!!! Smiley

Anyone know if Brees decided to go to the Saints, and then we traded for Daunte... or if we traded, and then he agreed to go with the Saints?  I hope we did it on our terms.

ESPN is reporting that Brees signed with the Saints cause they were the only team left that was interested in him after the Fins got C-Pep.
