Another day, another signing....

Dolphins ink veteran Hill
The Dolphins beat out the Browns, the Raiders and the Jets to get the services of versatile defensive back Renaldo Hill.

Hill agreed to a three-year, $6 million contract with the Dolphins that included a $2 million signing bonus. For Hill, the Dolphins signing allows him to be reunited with Nick Saban, who recruited him out of high school to go Michigan State. He started for three years for Saban at Michigan State.

Hill plays cornerback and safety, and he is probably going to help the Dolphins at the safety position. The Raiders used him as a cornerback-safety last year and at time, they used him as a linebacker in a 'Big Nickel' defense. He ended up with 89 tackles.

Another very nice addition...and at a primary need area. Renaldo was solid for the Raiders, and Saban obviously saw something he liked. I think this signing + Culpepper signing = Miami beginning to tunnel-vision on a big 'ol O-tackle in round one next month.

this is very disheartening. not only did we bring monkey head in as our QB, but we've also guanteed that we won't be drafting Youboty in the first round. we've brought in my most hated quarterback and snubbed a Buckeye in the draft. boooooooo

I still think there's a shot at Youboty.  Saban likes the young guys in the secondary (thus no more Pat or Sam)

He'll play more safety than corner. If this is the answer for our defensive backfield problems, than we are in tons of trouble.

I hope we sign Ashworth and can draft a cover corner that can tackle in Round one in April.

I like Renaldo Hill, but I would have rather gotten Tank Williams to play SS, and we still need to re-sign Lance Schulters.  I hope we sign Will Allen at CB too, and then we won't have any GLARING holes in our lineup, so we can take the best player overall at no. 16.
