Any real Cowboys fans would not be particularly thrilled with this. The homerism in most Cowboys fans always rings true however. Great palyer no doubt and if he straightens out his act you stole an amazing player. But can you really be all that excited about a guy who disrepsected your entire franchise and 3 others?

AZ, the owner signs the checks. I'll put it to you this way. I love the cowboys more than i hate owens. This is the NFL world we live in now, with free agency and player movement.

I'll say this Owens may be a good soldier because the cowboys paid him. All the eagles front office had to do was frontload his contract a little more. He'd still be in philly IMO.

Also the cowboys have their bases covered, the contract is basically 1yr/10million, everything else are roster bonuses which are not guaranteed. So if he dosent fly the straight and narrow he's gone. Somehow getting revenge on philly maybe motivation enough.

This is a GREAT signing by Dallas. 10 mil w/5 up front for the 1st year. Julius Jones will see less 8 man fronts, & Terry Glenn will suddenly have his whole half of the field to himself. Lito Sheppard is hiding somewhere because he knows he will be raped on  national TV. Its going to be all petals & roses..... for the 1st year. On paper, the move makes perfect sense. But there are so many x-factors at play here that I really think this is an all-or-nothing deal. Kudos to Jones for having the balls to do it but, he might want to put some defensive vets or resign Laroi Glover to keep that lockerroom in check. Bascially, the Cowboys with Owens are superbowl or bust. When the Eagles signed him that wasn't really a problem because they were a player away. Dallas is not a player away - the defense with alot of promise but still too green. This is a Jones deal all the way, how is that going to sit with Tuna? TO complained about McFlabb not being mobile enough towards the end of the SB, wait until he sees that statue Bledsoe in the pocket. Plus other sht Im too lazy to type right now. Basically I know its a 5 yr deal but yea right its really a 1 or 2 year deal. The 1st year with TO is always a honeymoon, lets see what happens after that. Regardless, good deal for taking the chance.
