That's great. We'll arrange contact info and such when the tickets go on sale. We'll likely get there a day or two before to take in Detroit.

Thanks for the info, and welcome to the boards!

Here's the first pair I've seen on ebay.  Very pricey, but i don't know what you're looking to spend so here goes:

http://cgi.ebay.com/2-Miami-Dolphins-vs-Detroit-Lions-Tickets-Lowers-Row-9_W0QQitemZ6620680184QQcategoryZ16122QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

The Lions do offer a group deal that includes a tailgate party and a lower endzone ticket, but I don't recall how many you have to buy to get the deal.  I'll try to find it.

Individual tickets don't even go on sale until August. Don't pay that much when you don't have to.

Somebody bought those tix.  Individual tix for sale will not be as good as the ones on ebay right now, but that's OK if you don't mind sitting in the upper level.  Some people do, some don't.

I certainly don't mind.  Matter of fact, the upper level corners are some of the best views.

Most of the tickets are going to be individual tickets. The Lions aren't good enough and the tickets are too expensive for a lot of people to be season ticket holders.

I spoke to some Lions fans from a suburb of Detroit during the Heritage Golf Classic over the weekend. They told me that Ford Field is a much nicer place to see a game than the Silverdome, and there arent really any bad seats in the house.

That is true.  I'm not knocking Detroit in any way, but it is a working-class city.

The city itself is, but the burbs are fairly rich. However, that's neither here nor there, because season tickets are still damned expensive even for someone like myself that is from those same burbs. Anyway, I'll call the ticket office again and get an exact date for when the Turkey Day tickets go on sale.

I bet Detroit has more season ticket holders than Miami.  The team may suck, but that town loves football.

I'm not sure of that market, but I would guess individual tickets wouldn't be a problem as long as you got them the day they went on sale.  I'd still comb ebay for a deal.  Season ticket holders pay less than indivduals and they don't pay the sky high ticketmaster fees.  So, if they are just looking to break even, or make a little, they may have something you could grab.

GO PHINS!!!

Just checked stubhub for the heck of it and they have upper corners and endzones for $85-$92 each.  They had one set of 6 in a corner and then another set of 5 in the row behind the 6 set.  I bet they piggyback.  Just an FYI.  I'm not sure what face value is on those.  Probably $39-$45.  Looking at their stadium diagram, it appears they only have 2 upper corners.

Average ticket price is 35-45 USD, I believe. I think the seats behind the endzones can be had for as low as 25 USD. I'd wait, if I were you. Also, I would bet against you. There are more Dolphins fans here than there are Lions fans; never mind teams like New England, Cinci, and Indi.
