Miami has 5 or 6 picks.

Their 1st, 3rd, 4th, & either 2 or 3 7th Rd. picks.

2nd went for Culpepper
5th went for Wright in last year Sup. Draft
6th went for Lemon.

We've got three 7th round picks.  I can also see us getting another 4th or 5th rounder (or possibly both) as compensatory picks for free agent losses.

Ironically, Tommy is blind.

We didn't get any picks.

No offense Tommy. Just a bad joke for anybody who knows The Who.

You're right.  I just saw a brand news news article about 5 min ago on this.  What pisses me off is that they gave the Jets a 3rd rounder and New England got a 5th and 6th rounder I believe.  They're really kissing New England's ass here.

Wait til you see what NE will get next year.  They lost a ton of core players this year.  I wonder what Seattle will get for losing Hutchinson?  Compnsatory picks will be crazy next year.  We should get something for Madison.

The highest compensatory draft pick is a 3rd rounder, so that would probably be a good guess - depending on what Seattle does in free agency the rest of this off-season.

We cut him, so we don't get squat. Only players signed away in free agency count.

On the other hand, Culpepper will count against us, so we'll probably get nothing next year as well.

How can Culpepper count against us if we traded away a draft pick to get him?

You're probably right. Sounds reasonable, anyway. Unfortunately, the "secret formula" for determining compensatory picks isn't public.

Its based on FA signed & their playing time/contact against FA lost & their playing time/contact.

I do not think the Jets signed or anyone of value anyone last year & lost Jordon & Becht off the top of my head.

As for next year.  Miami will not get any picks since off the top of my head they have only lost Sage so far & have signed Allen, Hill, Beasley, Goodman, Shelton.  If they sign Arrington he will not count against them since the Skins let him go.

Probably not much unless Peterson gets hurt & does not play.   His signing should almost cancel out Hutchinson.
