Little surprised that no one is talking about this as yet:

Young to visit Dolphins April 9-10Associated Press

DAVIE, Fla. -- Even though the Miami Dolphins now have Daunte Culpepper, they're still interested in Vince Young.

The University of Texas quarterback is scheduled to pay the Dolphins a visit April 9-10, less than three weeks before the NFL draft.

Young is among some 20 to 25 draft prospects expected to visit Miami. The Dolphins are in the market for a young quarterback to groom while serving as an understudy to Culpepper, acquired from the Minnesota Vikings in a trade March 14.

With the 16th pick in the first round, Miami would likely need to trade up to obtain Young, touted as the potential No. 1 choice by the Houston Texans.

Should Young slide in the draft April 29-30, there will still likely be plenty of competition for him. Every NFL team except Washington was on hand when he worked out Wednesday in Austin, Texas.

Young totaled 467 yards against Southern California in the Rose Bowl to help Texas win the national championship last season.

I think this is part of Saban's smokescreens.  He seems to like to make it sound like he is interested in every desirable player in the draft.

This almost seems too obviously "out there" to be just another Saban smoke screen. Or maybe that Wonderlic score has some folks frightened and nobody wants to be the team to come out and say so, wanting everyone else to believe that they're going to pick him and thus force a team that actually wanted him to trade up?

That seems a bit far-fetched as well.

If you're only going to work out 25 prospects, it seems a bit odd to waste time on someone like Young.

What about a smokescreen on the Dolphins trading up, though.

Yeah, but after signing Culpepper? Young seems like a really bad match for the Dolphins right now. The organization has to believe that he's going to be fine (injury-wise), which would make going for a top quarterback prospect extremely unlikely. Now, a "project" qb late first day or later might make a lot of sense, but the cost of moving up to snatch Young (our first and second would BARELY get us into the top 10) is completely out of wack with our "need" for him.

Saban is probably mulling the possibility that Young will fall to #16.

IMO...... that aint gonna happen.

it's just another example of the proper preparation being taken by this coaching staff. Explore all possibilities .. leave no stone unturned .. this is exactly the kind of management that wins championships.

Not likely, but it's possible.  With Cutler's popularity on the rise, and most of the needy teams up top getting a guy in free agency already, all we'd need is one surprise for this to happen.  I think that we still need to look at a CB, but if Young fell, we'd have to consider him.
