I went to fan appreciation day -- it was okay for me....good for the kids.  They had free sodas and gave away some stadium t-shirts.  The new Hall of Champions (I think it's called) is really nice.  It's a lot of the cool stuff from around, all brought in to one place to honor the team.  I don't know how much of that is going to be around all the time, but it's a nice touch.  ...it really makes the stadium feel like it belongs to the Dolphins and their rich history.

The big deal was the new scoreboard.  They had a big line where they took your picture in front of the scoreboard (with you on the scoreboard).  We didn't wait in the line, since it was monstrous, but they were giving out the prints in a nice little book.  ...very classy of the team, and a very professional, well-done, unique keepsake for kids.  The scoreboards are monstrous and look fantastic.  They played the new Dolphins 2005 pump-up video.  ...makes us look like we won the Super Bowl.

Also, they had some contests, and players signed autographs.  Saban got on a stage and talked...cheerleaders, TD, etc.

They also unveiled some new logos for the HD Scoreboards, stadium, etc.  ...all of them look good, and I'm excited at the new (I assume) animations that they'll have for the upcoming season.

Those scoreboards are amazing!

It was pretty damned cool to get to go down on the field too...

Sorry we couldn't hook up with you guys, but Rey and I moved a bunch of filing cabinets to his new place and then went for a serious steak and tater (and bread and soup and salad and brandied cinnamon apples and killians and espresso chocolate cheesecake...burp) before heading down.  Grin

Which players and alums were signing autographs?  Do you recall?

Is that song you mentioned going to be the new song after touchdowns or will the country song remain?

Thanks for the story.  I was wondering how it went.

New song?  I didn't hear any new song!  I like the old school banjo version.

The boards, though, are P.I.M.P.  Doug, you'll be amazed - you can even see the image when the sun is shining on it!  Imagine that!

Lemme guess..... Longhorn or Outback.  Gotta be one of the two.

Actually I didn't see.  There were "autograph tickets" whatever that means, and they were sold out.  I'm not much of that type, anyway, so it didn't really concern me.  I saw Saban speaking, and a few people walking the halls (two speakers from web weekend).  I only saw one guy signing, but it wasn't anyone I recognized.

I think they are talking about the pump up video you mentioned in your initial post.

The "pump-up" video was the NFL Films season in review.  You know, the same ones where they make the Houston Texans look like world champions.

"ONE TEAM, ONE GOAL"
The 2005 Miami Dolphins

It was a good video...  very "pump-up-ish"

Actually, there are hundreds of steakhouses down here.

But yeah...it was Longhorn  Tongue

Anyone else know about the autograph participants, or know how to identify Dolphin players out of uniform  Grin?

I'm going to go all the Pats game in Miami now.  I will sell my tix to some Chowder Head for $500 and then sit in the parking lot and watch the game on the big TV and cheer like everyone else  Wink

You know someone took a few pics of the event, but I don't see them anywhere.

I got some scoop.  Welker, Roth, Crowder, and Daniels were some of the guys signing.  Not bad at all.

I saw a pic on another fansite of a guy at the autograph session with Carey and Roth. The good thing was that Carey looked lean, and in shape.
