The Herald reported that Ricky tested positive for Amphetamine-like substances.  Ricky's agent says it's all a big mistake...but it all goes down today.

According to NFL Radio, the failed test was in December.

I imagine they won't make a decision today, but we'll probably get some more info on the case.

I think we will hear a decision today. Remember, according to the league, he failed the test. This is his attorneys chance to prove he didn't. If the attorney doesn't do enough to change the mind of the NFL, he's done for next year.

Latest news (Herald) is that they had to move the meeting (physically, not to another date) to avoid reporters.

I think we will hear a decision today.

That would be completely out of character for the NFL. Or any major organization of any kind, for that matter.

With regards to the outcome, I'm a bit worried that the publicity will force the league to suspend Ricky. If this had been kept secret (as it's supposed to be - and usually is), Ricky could probably have gotten off if he didn't do it (on purpose, at least). However, now that everybody knows about it, the league cannot just admit that the system is broken. What Ricky and his lawyer need to do is not just explain what happened, but give the league a "story" they can use with the public.

Ahhhh... forgive me if this message doesn't make any sense.  Just finished sniffing glue with Ricky.

Nah.... come on, amphetemine is like cocaine and meth.  Who the hell does that and then feels like yoga?  I predict he'll be quietly cleared to play.

There is no time constraint with the leauge on  making a decision...So in the best intrest of the Dolphins I think the leauge should wait till the 2006 season is over and or he blows out his knee/back/or any other season ending injuries!

According to the Miami Herald, Ricky's defense was that his lifestyle doesn't correspond to the drug he tested positive for.

I hope he has some more convincing evidence, because that circumstancial bullshit isn't gonna hold up for him.  In order for him to have a solid chance at beating this case, he needs to present all the supplements he was taking.  Apparently, the hearing lasted from 2 pm until around 9 pm so some detailed presentation had to have been involved.

This is the first time I'm saying this but I think Saban needs to prepare for going into the 2006 season without Ricky.

Could be Atarol...a drug used for ADD.  It'll show a positive test for speed.
