Wow....  What a wacky draft it has been, the Buffalo Bills are clearly on crack.  I must say that I was a bit baffled when Miami selected DB Jason Allen out of Tennessee, but the more I read on him, the more I heard Coach Saban talk about him the more comfortable I felt about it.  Plus, the secondary was something that killed us last year.  Might as well keep bolstering it up, until it gets right.

Derek Hagan in the third round, what amazing value that is!  This guy was the cream of the crop if the receiver class, until the Senior Bowl.  However, Senior Bowl's, Combines, and private workouts, only tell you so much about a guy.  This was a great pick, and a lot of teams will be kicking themselves in the ass over this one.

The 4th round is cranking up and you've still got some high profile guys on there.  OG Max Jean Gilles, S Ko Simpson, DT Orien Harris, and LB Elvis Dumervil.  Should be interesting!

Yeah...go read the OL section of my draft report again<g>...I really was hoping SF or Miami would go after Joey T in round four. Glad to see he'll go to a genius O-line coach...Houck will turn Joey into a monster.

OK, looks like Nicholson got snatched up by Cincy so no more worrying about him.  The draft is now in the 6th round.  Time to kick back a little as Miami does not have a 6th rounder but has three 7th rounders.

Saban talked about needing help on the front seven, but has not drafted anyone to fill that need.  It would not surprise me if he used all three of his remaining picks on LB's and DL's.

I can definately see defensive players the rest of the way.  Keep in mind you still have some pretty good players that still haven't gone yet.  DE Melvin Oliver from LSU, LB Freddie Roach from Alabama, DT Rodrique Wright from Texas, and DT Fred Evans from Texas State.

If Saban's recent pattern holds up, Oliver and Roach will be in aqua and orange.

Actually, Oliver just got snatched up by San Fran who traded up with Jax.

BTW, I wonder who's gonna win the Mr. Irrelevant award?

The thing about Fred Evans is that, I had read something in the local papers where Coach Saban had sent out one of his defensive coaches to work him out.  I figured that if he was still on the board in the seventh round, Coach Saban would take him.  Evans continues the youth movement at DT.

Okay, the youth movement at DT still continues with Rodrique Wright of Texas.

Another great call on your part!!!  You're looking like a late round draft expert.  Maybe the Dolphins should hire you as a scout  Grin Grin Grin

Here's the lowdown on Wright.  This is a big boy!!!

i like this one alot.  I think his inconsistency will get straightened out in the NFL and he'll eventually be there for us in the middle.

With our final pick in the 2006 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins select WR Devin Aromashodu from Auburn.  Daunte Culpepper and Joey Harrington get a new toy.  Here's his profile, from NFL.com
