THE FINAL FOUR!

Activision Bracket Winner: Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES)

Matches:

Round of 64: vs. The Sims (PC), 17-2
Round of 32: vs. NFL 2k3 (Multi), 13-3
Round of 16: vs. Contra (NES), 15-3
Round of 8: vs. Tetris (NES), 13-3

Avg. Margin of Victory: 11.75
Avg. Votes For: 14.5
Avg. Votes Against: 2.75

Super Mario Bros. 3 has been nothing short of dominant throughout the TDMMC VGB.  They were one of the early favorites to take it all, and they've proven why, with 4 spectacular blowout wins.

VS.

Capcom Bracket Winner: Mike Tyson's Punch Out (NES)

Matches:

Round of 64: vs. Maniac Mansion: Day of the Tentacle (PC), 15-3
Round of 32: vs. Metroid Prime (Nintendo 64), 17-3
Round of 16: vs. ExciteBike (NES), 10-6
Round of 8: vs. Doom 2 (PC), 9-8

Avg. Margin of Victory: 7.75
Avg. Votes For: 12.75
Avg. Votes Against: 5

After two knockout wins, Mike Tyson's Punch Out got pushed up against the ropes against surprise game ExciteBike, and then was saved by the bell in the round of 8 against Doom 2.  Some feel as if Tyson's Punch Out is the cinderella story of the TDMMC VGB.

Yes, on purpose, until the voting has expired (it's on an automatic timer).

Although it would have been impossible, it would've been nice to see Ocarina of Time, Halo, GTA:VC, and Super Mario 3 as the final 4.  That way, 4 different systems with 4 different game styles would be represented.  As is, Punch Out doesn't have a chance to take down Mario 3.

I like this idea.... I'm still convinced that Brian voted for Super Tecmo Bowl several times to knock out Ocarina of Time.

In this case, an emulator is a program which acts like a different system.  You can download a program that treats your computer like NES, and then you can download ROMs (which are games) to play on it.
