How much does it suck that ESPN lost the rights to a Sunday night highlights show?  No more "Primetime".  NBC has gained those rights, apparently.   Sad
To me, this is the biggest impact of this whole switcheroo.  Berman and those guys were the best.  NBC better bring it to the table, because those are big shoes to fill.

The fact NBC won the rights to the highlights too passed me. I loved Prime Time. I hope NBC steps up.

Here's the problem with this...

People aren't going to stop watching MNF just because some TV exec says "its not the big game anymore"

the Sports bars will still be packed on Monday nights from September thru December.  The same number of people will watch SNF as they did before.  The only difference is in scheduling, and wht team are playing but even when the Texans play the Browns on MNF, I'll watch.

So I ask you - does it matter which game the TV execs deem "the big game?"

Ho-ly Crap.  Write it down.  Brian, you stole my words.

Although the TV might call Sunday Night Football the new big game, you can't just erase all these years of traditions in bars and stuff.  MNF will always be MNF...no matter who is playing, what channel, etc.

I agree completely...I'm not sure I'll be able to survive an entire football season without Boomer and TJ doing the sunday night highlights.  Cry

It's not the TV execs saying "this is the big game", it's the NFL sticking it to ESPN and scheduling crappy games on MNF that will make Sunday night the big game.

NBC Pisses me off to a great length.

Bob Costas will probably parade his stupid, wanna-be intelligent face around with his Marv Albert wanna-be announcing skills.

Then they'll throw in Dick Enberg, Tom Tolbert, Jimmy Roberts, and all the other shitty-ass 2nd tier announcers that I can't freaking stand...and that hack who does the Notre Dame games that no-one watches.

This is going to suck.  I hate it when games have shit announcers.

Here is the line-up jtex

John Madden will serve as color commentator on the new NBC broadcasts. Al Michaels, having recently departed from ABC/ESPN after a "trade" between the Disney-owned network and the Peacock network that included the rights to Oswald the Lucky Rabbit going from Universal to Disney, will do play-by-play. Cris Collinsworth, the recently-retired Jerome Bettis, and five-time Pro Bowler Sterling Sharpe will be studio analysts and Bob Costas will be the studio host. Andrea Kremer will serve as the sideline reporter, and will also contribute to the studio show, while Sports Illustrated reporter Peter King will serve as a reporter for the studio show.

I think you can add that Madden sucks.

I don't mind Costas.

FINALLY, something that EVERYONE at TDMMC has unanimously agreed upon - Joe Theismann is the biggest asshole ever.

Where's a Redskins fan to ruin our fun?

I can't stand Theisman either, but his comments aren't just about weed.

Ricky quit on his team at the wrong time.  I don't recall that happening many times in the NFL, if any.  You may could argue Barry Sanders, but he gave his due for years and earned the right to retire.

Ricky also has 4 illegit kids, which he clearly can't give much time to considering all his travels.  I don't know many health care professionals that would argue it's a better thing for kids to be raised by single parents.  It's also not good when the bread winner gives up income to smoke weed or go find himself in India, etc.  He has a financial obligation to those kids and their mothers that he can't pay if he keeps screwing up, which he cosistently does.

He also has an enormous debt to his employer, which is not exactly a good thing either.

There's more to Ricky than 3 positive weed tests and one positive for an unknown banned substance.  Take the football out of him and he is just another punk most of you would be dogging every chance you got.

Weed smoker, job quitter, broke ass man with 4 illegits.  That's how he would go down in history if he had not football talent.
