It's news up here, most likely wouldn't be anywhere else.  The woman that hit Big Ben yesterday is a 70 something year old woman from Maine.  A woman that happens to be a Pats fan.

Car had Maine plates on it.

Are you sure they didn't send this woman out as a hired assassin?

Poor old woman is falling apart, actually.  She lives in Maine in the summer (grew up here) and spends winters in Pittsburgh with her family.  I guess she is really shaken up over hitting him.

I dont know all the details of the accident and who was sited and whatnot, but I do believe in the elderly being tested more often for driver licenses and maybe shouldnt have them all at all at a certain point. They just don't have the same reflexes and reaction times they used to. I know I will regret saying this when I'm a senior citizen, but right now, i see it all the time in S. FL.

I totally agree, but unfortunately, until public transportation improves down here, its not bloody likely to happen.

How else will they be able to pack 6 old people into a Crown Vic and head out for the early bird dinner special at 3:00 every afternoon

I am the only one that finds it odd that this snowbird doesn't travel south. I don't believe I have ever heard of anyone spending Winters in Pittsburgh.

I had thought about this as well.  I just figured Pittsburgh winters were easier compared to Maine.

You realize that Pitssburgh is south of Maine, right?  I can draw you a map.

Siberian winters are easy, compared to Maine.  Put it this way...In the span of 2 years, I went from the mountains on the Czechoslovakian border to Maine. I still am not sure which was worse.

Maine winters aren't that bad.  We barely got any snow this past year and the average temp was 41 degrees.  Balmy?  No.  Impossible to deal with?  No.
